BOD NEWS SPRING 1 2019
A big welcome back to everyone and a Happy New Year to you all! The staff would like to say a huge THANK YOU for all the lovely cards and gifts we were given for Christmas. We are particularly looking forward to arranging a staff night out to Pizza Express. Your kind thoughts and generosity were very much appreciated.
CHRISTMAS FUND RAISING
Thank you for all your support for our Christmas fund raising events. We raised more than £500 from the Christmas Craft Workshop and Christmas cakes. We hope those of you who bought Christmas cakes enjoyed them. We are planning to put all fund raising monies towards an end of year trip for the children.
Please could we ask everyone to ensure that they have the Pre-school telephone number programmed into their mobile phones so that you can contact us in an emergency or if you have a problem collecting your child on time. Please let Cathy know if any of your contact details change so that we can update our records.
We understand parking can be difficult at times and ask parents to either park in the designated spaces in the car park or park respectfully and safely on St. Bernards Road. Please never park in the spaces marked YMCA staff only near Pre-school front door. Please ensure you drive down the driveway especially slowly and carefully because of the very young children accessing Pre-school,
In the event of adverse weather the Pre-school Managers will make the decision as to whether to open or close. The decision, if possible, will be made before 7:30 am and will be based on the information received from the media regarding the weather forecast for the day and supplemented by on the spot observations from staff. Parents will be notified via the Website www.holytrinitypreschool.co.uk where the decision for the day will be posted by 7:40 in the morning. We will also try to email parents and put a post on our Facebook page.In the event of Pre-School having to close due to severe weather starting during opening hours, a message for parents to collect their children will be posted on the website and parents will also be contacted by phone and asked to come and collect their children as soon as possible. Please ensure all your contact details and those of your emergency contact are current.
Can we please, please, please remind all our parents and carers, especially now with the colder weather to name all hats, coats, scarves and gloves that come to Pre-school. All the staff are pretty good at remembering who’s coat is who’s but it is quite difficult with 30 pairs of mittens!!! It’s is also difficult for grandparents who pick up children if children’s possessions are not named.
Please make sure your child’s lunch box is clearly named and does not include any products that may contain nuts. We have signed up to the NHS Change4Life Startwell Helathy Eating and Being Active Programme so we ask that you do not put any sweets or fizzy/energy drinks into their lunch box. As we have children with special dietary requirements we request that no cakes, sweets or other edible treats be sent in to celebrate a child’s birthday.
GOVERNMENT SUPPORT WITH CHILDCARE COSTS
Childcare Choices is a government website which brings together all the childcare offers in one place. There are two new schemes for working parents. Tax-Free Childcare and 30 hours free childcare. To find out more about the new and existing offers, and how they can help you, please go to the Childcare Choices website.
Holy Trinity Pre-School is a registered charity and is governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is responsible for the operation of Pre-school and acts as the Trustee of the charity. The Board meets every half term to support the work of the staff and to organise fundraising and social events. We are a bit short of members and would really appreciate your support. If you are interested in helping or if you would like more information please speak to Cathy.
As you know we are a non-profit making charity which relies on the support of our parents. If you work for a bank or finance company, they may match our fundraising. Please let us know if you can help!
Can you help? Do you have a skill set or the access to resources that might benefit our Pre-school? We are always looking for paper that the children can use for drawing. Please speak to Cathy or Lesley if you think you can help
TAPESTRY: Don’t forget to log on to your child’s learning journal to see all the exciting things they do whilst at Pre-school. You can add your own photographs and also comment on the posting that your child’s keyperson has made. If you experience any problems logging on to Tapestry please speak to Cathy,
