This year we are holding our annual Family Fun Day on Saturday 15th July, 1pm – 4pm.  We will have a visit from a police car and a fire engine.  There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, a treasure hunt and lots of other stalls and activities.  The event is open to the whole community so please bring along your family and friends. If you are able to spare some time we are looking for people to run some of the stalls.  We also need a few easy to assemble gazebos for the Fun Day so if anyone has a gazebo that we could borrow for the day please let us know.

During the week commencing 10th July we will be giving the Orange Bods who will start their pre-school year in September the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a Green Bod. During the week the current Green Bods will have their registration in the large room along with the younger Orange Bods whilst the older Orange Bods, soon to become Green Bods, will go into the small room for a more formal registration and to participate in an adult led activity based on one of the seven areas of learning of the EYFS.

We would like to take this opportunity to send good wishes to all the children who are moving on to school in September.  We will miss you all but are sure that you will thrive in your new learning environment.

The Leavers Service for children moving to school in September will be held during the afternoon of Tuesday 18th July.  This event is for all Green Bods but will include any Orange Bods who usually attend on a Tuesday afternoon.  The performance will start promptly at 2.30pm so we ask parents to arrive by 2.20pm

Many of you know that Lesley Sheasby our Pre-school Manager has been off on long term sick leave since January.  She has been undergoing an extended period of treatment for a type of cancer called multiple myeloma.  Her treatment is progressing well and we hope she will be able to return to Pre-school before the end of the year.  We are sure you will join us in wishing her a speedy recovery.

It is with great sadness that we will be saying goodbye to Stuart at the end of term.  Stuart and his wife have decided to venture into a new business together.  We wish them every success for the future.

Thank you everyone for confirming your requirements for September.  If you would like to find out more information on the additional 15 hours of government funding for working parents of 3 and 4 year olds please go to  Working parents who meet the criteria for the extra 15 hours must obtain their child’s 11 digit eligibility code as soon as possible if they want to claim 30 hours or part thereof for September 2017.

We would love parents of children coming back in September to post photographs and comments regarding what they have done during the long summer holidays in their child’s learning Journal.

LABELLING BELONGINGS – please can we ask you to check that your child’s clothing is labelled.  One of our parents has lost a couple of jackets which are named.  Could we ask all parents of boys to check their child’s clothing to check that haven’t picked up the wrong jacket by mistake.

Hankies at the ready!! It’s that time of year again.  On the last afternoon of the summer term we will be holding a Pre-school picnic.  The picnic will start at 1.30 and finish at 2.30 and everyone is welcome.  There will be a cake sale and we would like contributions from those of you who are able. If you child comes to Pre-school on a Friday and stays for lunch could we suggest giving them just a light snack in their lunch box as we will be providing all the children with picnic food at 1.30
